Recapping a golden weekend | Daily Brew

That was a terrific weekend.

Andre Johnson was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His family, a slew of friends and former teammates, and an army of Texans fans were in Canton, Ohio to celebrate the honor.

He gave a heartfelt acceptance speech (which you can watch below) and ignited the crowd in attendance.

Speaking of those Texans fans: they showed up, and showed out, as 'Dre predicted they would. Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle captured some of that in this article.

Dozens of Johnson's former teammates were in Canton to celebrate with 'Dre. J.J. Watt was one of them, and he was overjoyed for his friend. The party for Watt's Hall of Fame enshrinement will be a fun one as well in the coming years.

The current team attended the ceremony as well. They're in Cleveland all week to practice, and they'll drive over to Pittsburgh for Friday night's preseason game.

Defensive end Danielle Hunter was the subject of this cool profile by the Houston Chronicle's Jon Poorman. There are some fun anecdotes about Hunter's high school days at Morton Ranch.
