Report: Arian Foster done for 2013 with back injury

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, running back Arian Foster will miss the remainder of the 2013 season with a back injury.

Per team policy, the Houston Texans don't comment on a roster move until after it's happened.

Rappaport said the 3-time Pro Bowler will require surgery for a "lumbar spine issue" and that the Texans will place Foster on the injured reserve on Monday.

Foster missed much of May and June's OTA's because of a calf injury. He didn't practice during training camp, and injured his back in August. He was able to play in all eight regular season games, but left the loss at Kansas City in the first quarter with a hamstring injury. He exited the Sunday night contest versus Indianapolis with a back injury.

Foster's gained 542 yards on 121 carries, and rushed for a touchdown. He also caught a touchdown pass in Week 4 against Seattle.

Foster was ruled out for the Week 10 matchup with Arizona because of a back injury, and didn't practice with the team on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
