John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have **re-signed quarterback Alex Brink** to replace injured third-string quarterback Rex Grossman.
Per club policy, no transactions such as free agent signings are official until announced by the team. No statement has been issued by the Texans at this time.
Grossman injured his hamstring on his first play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday and could be out 4-5 weeks. Brink was drafted by the Texans in the seventh round out of Washington State last year and spent 12 weeks on the Texans' practice squad. He was let go in late June, a couple of weeks after the Texans signed Grossman.
