Reports: Texans, Ryans reach six-year deal

John McClain of the *Houston Chronicle *and Adam Schefter of ESPN have reported that the Texans have signed linebacker DeMeco Ryans to a six-year deal.

There has not been an announcement from the Texans. No transactions are official until announced by the team.

Ryans, 25, has made two Pro Bowls in four NFL seasons. The Texans' defensive captain, he leads the NFL with 403 solo tackles since 2006.

A restricted free agent, Ryans was offered a one-year tender by the Texans on March 4. He was at the team's voluntary offseason workouts on Tuesday at Reliant Stadium.
