Brock Osweiler's touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins took just 1:05, but gave Houston a big 20-7 heading into halftime of the AFC Wild Card game against Oakland.
"We knew we would get one where only I could get it," Hopkins said. "We saw some things in the red zone against these guys that we could take advantage of. We went out there and did it."
With less than two minutes remaining in the first half, Osweiler threw two deep passes to Will Fuller V and Hopkins to move the Texans offense down the field. Hopkins' 38-yard catch gave Houston a first-and-goal at the three-yard line. Two plays later, Hopkins caught a two-yard touchdown pass, his first career postseason score, to cap off a four-play, 60-yard drive.
"It was a great call by coach," Osweiler said. "There were a couple of options within the play, but ultimately Hop ran the route based upon what he felt was the best leverage from that corner and really made my job easy. I just had to lead him and he caught the ball. It was a great play."
Following the score, the Texans took a 20-7 lead with 1:24 left in the second quarter.
