The Texans overtime scoring drive ended in a 33-yard field goal, set up by a 36-yard pass to Jaelen Strong along the left sideline.
"There was something that I saw in the sidelines looking at the pictures early in the game," Osweiler said. "I told Jaelen I said, 'Hey if they give us this look again, I'm going to signal you a go route.' So, it was something that we were on the same page. We got that look. I signaled him the go route. He did a tremendous job at the line of scrimmage. He won, and he made a terrific catch to ultimately put us in field goal position. So, very proud of Jaelen." C.J Fiedorowicz caught a nine-yard pass on the first play of the drive, while Lamar Miller rushed for a 10-yard gain on second-and-1. Strong's reception, his first of the game, moved the Texan into field goal range. Novak, who missed an extra point attempt earlier, was happy to redeem himself with the game-winner.
"Life's about redemption and perseverance," Novak said. "As long as there's time on the clock, you have a chance to win. You don't want to give up on yourself or your team. I've been in this too long to get down. I just got back into it and got back into my routine. This is football, things are going to happen. I have yet to play a perfect game. Even if I make 100 percent of my kicks, there's always something wrong that I could be better. It was a great snap, great hold, great protection. Just extremely happy that we won."Right Combination: OT scoring drive
