Season Premiere a smashing success | Daily Brew

Last night was a runaway success for the sport of Girls Flag Football in Houston.

The Houston Texans Season Premiere was held yesterday evening inside NRG Stadium, and it was a fun chance for fans to mix and mingle with the players, coaches and front office staff from the organization.

All the proceeds benefitted Girls Flag Football in the Houston Independent School District. In fact, the record-setting $1.4 million raised will fund all 25 high school teams in the district for the next three years.

It was a memorable night, and now, hundreds of girls across the city will get to play flag football and hopefully grow the game even more.

There were a lot of smiles last night as the players were introduced to the crowd in attendance.

We're just eight days away from the Week 1 matchup in Indianapolis with the Colts and Texans.

The team has the weekend off and will return to practice on Monday.
