Smith meets with Bills; still headed to Houston for visit

The Texans **arranged to meet with** Kansas City Chiefs free agent guard Wade Smith this weekend, but that visit temporarily appeared to be in jeopardy. Smith **arrived in Buffalo** on Friday to meet with the Bills, whose new head coach (Chan Gailey) and offensive line coach (Joe D'Allesandris) coached Smith in Kansas City.

It looks like Smith will visit the Texans as planned, though. He was scheduled address the Buffalo media today at noon ET, but **according to BuffaloBills.com**, his meeting with the Bills ran long and he was unable for comment because he had to hurry to catch a flight to Houston.

Smith is a Dallas native, and Texans owner Bob McNair said in February that his team is looking for more depth along the interior offensive line. The Texans' 2009 opening day starters at guard, Chester Pitts and Mike Brisiel, are coming off of season-endng injuries, and Pitts is an unrestricted free agent. Chris White, who started eight games at right guard in 2009, is a restricted free agent.
