HOUSTON - The NFL announced today that Texans punter Chad Stanley was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played from November 2-3.
Stanley had three punts Sunday in the victory against Carolina, but did not allow a single return, pinning the Panthers inside their 20-yard line all three times. His punts covered 144 yards, an average of 48.0 yards per punt and a net of 45.7 yards per punt. This marks Stanley's second award from the NFL. After averaging 41.1 yards per punt, with 10 inside the 20-yard line and no touchbacks, he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September, 2002.
Stanley joins a long list of other Texans' players and coaches to be recognized with awards so far this season. Following is a list of all the Texans award winners for the 2003 season.
