Swinging for the fences

Texans players including Matt Schaub and Eric Winston will compete in the Reliant Energy Home Run Derby at Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, on Wednesday from 2:45-4:15 p.m.

Schaub won the home run derby title last year, but Winston **stole the show with eight home runs**, including a couple of moonshots into the upper deck.

Other players scheduled to participate are Chris Myers, Dan Orlovsky, Kasey Studdard, Zac Diles, David Anderson, James Casey, Dominique Barber and Duane Brown.

The annual event raises money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. Reliant Energy will donate $500 for each home run, and there will be 11 bulls-eye targets stationed around the field that Texans players can hit to raise even more money.

Last year's derby raised $31,300 for the Boys & Girls Clubs. Reliant Energy has donated $69,850 since 2006 through their partnership with the Texans in the event. More than 300 children from around the Houston area are expected to attend.
