The Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers will hold joint practices ahead of their Week 1 preseason matchup at Lambeau Field.
The Texans will face all NFC teams this preseason, kicking off with Green Bay on the road before returning home in Week 2 to host the Detroit Lions. Houston travels to Dallas to face the Cowboys in Week 3 and will close out the preseason against the Los Angeles Rams at NRG Stadium in Week 4.
During Bill O'Brien's six seasons as head coach, the Texans have scrimmaged against another team each year in training camp. Last year, the Texans hosted the San Francisco 49ers for joint practices ahead of their Week 2 preseason game. In 2017, Houston practiced against the New England Patriots in West Virginia and against the Saints in New Orleans. The Texans worked against both the Saints at home and the 49ers on the road in 2016. During filming of HBO's Hard Knocks in 2015, the team traveled to Richmond, Virginia to scrimmage against Washington at camp. In O'Brien's first season as head coach, Houston hosted the Atlanta Falcons for joint practices in 2014.
