HOUSTON – The Houston Texans and Washington Redskins will participate in joint practices in Richmond, Va. from Thursday, August 6 through Saturday, August 8. All joint practice sessions will be open and free to the public.
This marks first time these two teams have worked together during training camp in team history. The Redskins will host the Texans at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center which was opened in 2013. Last season, more than 60,000 fans visited the Redskins summer home when they hosted joint practices with the New England Patriots.
"Redskins Training Camp in Richmond is a great opportunity for fans to connect with their favorite team and to experience the wonderful attractions, food and recreation that Central Virginia has to offer." Governor Terry McAuliffe said. "I look forward to attending camp for the third year in a row and watching the Redskins and the Texans get ready for this season."
Houston worked last season with the Atlanta Falcons prior to their Week 2 preseason game at the Houston Methodist Training Facility before traveling to Denver to practice with the Denver Broncos before their Week 3 matchup.
