Texans draft DT Earl Mitchell from Arizona

With their third pick of the 2010 draft, the Texans have drafted Arizona defensive tackle Earl Mitchell at No. 81 overall. Mitchell (6-2, 296) is a Houston native who went to North Shore High School in Galena Park.

A former fullback, tight end and H-back at Arizona, Mitchell ran a 4.76 at the combine. He was second-team All-Pac 10 as a senior in 2009, when he was a defensive co-captain and started 12 games. He had 48 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as a senior.
