On a rainy morning at NRG Stadium, the Texans took their first steps towards preparing for the 2025 season.

Monday marked the beginning of the team's Offseason Conditioning Program, as the players gathered at the stadium to go through physical conditioning there and across Kirby at the Houston Methodist Training Center. New Texans acquired via free agency, and the returning players worked out with optimism about the year ahead on the gridiron.

"We get excited as coaches to have players back in the building," Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans

"It is also limited. We can't actually get on the field with the guys. A lot of people would like to but it's just meetings with our guys. They go out, they work with our strength and conditioning coaches, working in the weight room and also in the field doing some conditioning."

For Ryans, it was the third start of offseason conditioning as head coach with the Texans. His quarterback C.J. Stroud, drafted in April of 2023, commenced his second round of offseason conditioning.

"These last two years were very foundational," Stroud said. "To have wins under our belts was great. But just learning from those years and pushing our agenda and our foundation, which is that S.W.A.R.M. mentality, on the new guys and the guys who are coming into Year 2 or Year 3."

Defensive end Will Anderson, Jr.,a team captain with Stroud the past two seasons, echoed the importance of the program and his excitement about this time to prep for the fall.

"It's nothing but smiles and you can feel the energy in the building and it's light," Anderson said. "I think everyone has the same mindset and is going in the same direction, and it's beautiful."

Anderson, Stroud and the Texans will continue the program throughout this week and the next two months.
