Texans place Walker on injured reserve

HOUSTON- The Houston Texans announced today that they have placed DE Gary Walker on the Reserve/Injured list with a sprained toe on his right foot.

Walker (6-2, 305) has played in 129 games, starting 122 during his nine-year career. He has recorded 548 career tackles (294 solo), 45 career sacks and six career forced fumbles.

         In
         2003, Walker was hampered by a shoulder and a toe injury and only
         played in four games. He recorded 22 tackles and one pass defensed.
         He earned his second consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl during his
         first season as a Texan in 2002. Prior to being selected by the
         Texans in the expansion draft on 2/18/02, Walker spent three seasons
         in Jacksonville. He signed with Jacksonville as an unrestricted free
         agent in 1999 following four seasons with the Houston Oilers, where
         he was originally drafted in the fifth round (159

th overall) of the 1995 NFL Draft.
