Linebacker Zac Diles answered fan questions about what he has learned from lining up next to DeMeco Ryans.
Brooke Bentley (Texans TV): I hear you and DeMeco Ryans are good friends off the field. How has that helped your play together? (Anonymous fan)
Zac Diles: Reallg good. Now that we are out there, the nonverbal communication out there is real good. I can just look at DeMeco and he can give me the look like, "Yo, I've got you that." It's just the unity, the communication – it all clicks. It's just one.
{QUOTE}Brooke Bentley: How much will Dunta Robinson's return change the defense? Will it free up the linebackers and allow the Texans to get more creative with their pass rush? (Anonymous fan)
Zac Diles: We really are going to do the same things, but just having him out there – I mean, he's a playmaker. Just out here in practice here alone, you see D-Rob making plays. You're like, "Man was this guy even hurt?" Because he was just flying round like it's just natural to him. For the most part, we're going to be doing the same things. But it's good to have him out there back on the field."
Brooke Bentley: What is the biggest difference in last year's defense and this year's defense? (Gene Chauvin)
Zac Diles: I think we are younger this year. We have myself, Brandon Harrison back there in the secondary. Amobi (Okoye), he's still young. He's go a year of experience, but he's still young. Fred (Bennett), he's in his second year. We just have a lot of youth out there in that defense right now, and there's a lot of athletic ability. We're pretty fast. So just being able to run around and have that youth on our side is the biggest thing on the defense this year.
Brooke Bentley: How relieved were you when you found out Roy Williams had been traded to the Cowboys? (Anonymous fan)
Zac Diles: I didn't even know until that morning – it was the next day when we got to practice. I'm not a DB, so I really don't have to cover the guy. So it really wasn't that big of a deal to me. But he's an extremely, extremely talented athlete. Just watching tape, we watched a play he made a couple of weeks ago. It was a one-handed catch he made on the sidelines. When you see that, you're like, "Dang." It was good for him that he was able to go out and get his contract. Like I said, I wasn't really concerned with that.
Brooke Bentley: I heard that you were asked to star in a show called "Smiles with Diles". Why did you turn that down?
Zac Diles: That would be cool. I haven't got it on ink yet. I don't know. That would be a good idea. I should do something like that.
