The Texans have released two undrafted rookies, fullback Jason Ford and cornerback Desmond Marrow.
Houston now 86 players on the active roster, leaving the team with four open spots as training camp approaches. The Texans reportedly worked out veteran wide receivers Roy Williams and Bryant Johnson on Thursday.
Ford, who played collegiately at Illinois, was the Texans' fourth fullback behind starter James Casey, veteran Moran Norris and converted linebacker Derrell Smith.
Marrow, who played at Toledo, was one of nine cornerbacks on the Texans' roster. He faced long odds to make the team at a position group that includes second- and third-year pros Brandon Harris, Roc Carmichael, Sherrick McManis and Torri Williams.
