Texans set takeaway record with 31

The 2014 Texans have the most takeaways in franchise history.

In the second quarter after cornerback A.J. Bouye stripped Reggie Wayne and recovered the fumble, the Texans had 31 takeaways on the season.

The Texans squared off against the Colts on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

In the first quarter, safety Kendrick Lewis picked off an Andrew Luck pass and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown. That interception was the 30th takeaway of the year, and it tied the 2011 Texans for the most in franchise history.

In 2013, Houston only tallied 11 takeaways. The Texans surpassed that total in Week 5 at Dallas.
