The Houston Texans signed eight players to the practice squad Monday afternoon, seven of which worked with the team through training camp.
Linebackers D.D. Acholonu, Anthony Dunn and Shantee Orr were away from the team for only a few hours, as were defensive back Jammal Lord, defensive end Jason Davis, tight end Matt Murphy and wide receiver Sloan Thomas.
Running back Renaldo Works is the only new addition to the team. Works spent training camp with the Miami Dolphins and rushed for 1,538 yards and 21 touchdowns in four years at Oklahoma.
"Yesterday we met with the players we released and they came in this morning and the waiver wire came through at 11 o'clock." Texans head coach Dom Capers said. "All the guys we hoped to add to the practice squad we were able to sign."
