The Texans have signed cornerback Matterral Richardson to the active roster from the Washington Redskins' practice squad. Richardson, an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Arkansas, takes the roster spot of running back Ahman Green, who yesterday was placed on injured reserve.
In his first NFL preseason game on Aug. 3, Richardson intercepted New York Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen and **returned it for a touchdown** in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.
The 6-0, 197-pound corner started 35 games in his final three seasons at Arkansas. He had 180 tackles and four interceptions in his Razorbacks career.
