Texans Sign RB Chris Polk

The Houston Texans have signed free agent RB Chris Polk, it was announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Polk (5-11, 222), recorded 57 carries for 270 rushing yards (4.7 avg.) and seven touchdowns, as well as six receptions for 77 yards in 36 career regular season games played with the Philadelphia Eagles (2012-14). He also contributed with 13 kickoff returns for 348 yards (26.8 avg.), including a 102-yard touchdown return.

Polk was originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Washington on April 29, 2012. He finished his Huskies career as the second-leading rusher all-time behind Napolean Kaufman as he eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark in three consecutive seasons (2009-11). His 4,049 rushing yards included a school-record 21 100-yard games.
