Texans take early lead with Mark Ingram II TD run

The Texans got on the scoreboard first.

In Sunday's regular season opener versus the Jacksonville Jaguars at NRG Stadium, RB Mark Ingram II rumbled in for a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Ingram, who carried five times for 12 yards on the possession, found the end zone three plays after QB Tyrod Taylor found WR Brandin Cooks for a 40-yd connection. Cooks came down with the ball at the Texans' 2-yard line, despite the efforts of Rayshawn Jenkins on the coverage.

In all, the drive went 84 yards on 14 plays, and burned 7:02 off the game clock.

WR Danny Amendola, who signed with the Texans on Tuesday, wasted little time in making an impact, as he caught a pair of passes for 15 yards.

The Joey Slye point after attempt staked Houston to a 7-0 advantage at the 6:43 mark in the opening quarter.
