Registration for the Houston Texans Chili Kickoff presented by H-E-B began Wednesday, Nov. 3. The event will be a chili cook-off between Texans fans prior to the team's home game against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, Dec. 13.
The deadline to register for the event is Friday, Nov. 19, and all entrants must be age 21 or older.
Fans interested in competing in the Chili Kickoff may enter online at HoustonTexans.com/chilikickoff by filling out the registration form and submitting a video of themselves making their chili. Ten finalists will be selected based on the creativity and personality of the video submissions.
Each of the finalists will prepare their chili on-site at Reliant Park on the day of the game and will present their dish to the judges in Budweiser Plaza two hours before kickoff. Their submissions will be judged on seven criteria: taste, usage and presentation of H-E-B branded products, Houston Texans team spirit, consistency, aroma, appearance and creativity.
The winner will receive "The Ultimate Backyard party for the Big Game" at their house for the Super Bowl.
