The Houston Texans video department won its first Lone Star Regional Emmy Sports award on Tuesday night. The 2019 Wild Card game trailer featuring the Texans vs. the Buffalo Bills took home the 2020 award in the Best Promotion – Program Single Spot/Image/Campaign category.
Executive producer Tyler Suddarth along with Editor Tom McGuigan brought home the award for their nostalgic "We Are Texans | Playoffs" game trailer, weaving a compilation of historic moments in Houston's rich history, from the late Texans Founder Bob McNair presenting the 32nd NFL franchise to the city to a NASA shuttle launch to the city coming together in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
Narrated by Spring native Simone Biles, the world's most-decorated gymnast, the trailer also features cameos from other beloved Houstonian athletes such as Astros All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve and Houston Rockets Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon.
