Texans vs. Jets, By the Numbers | Daily Brew

The New York Jets are coming to town, led by #2 overall pick QB Zach Wilson, so let's get to my weekly By the Numbers/Daily Brew. Let's GO!

10 - The Texans defense/special teams have produced ten takeaways in the last two games - five each against Miami and Tennessee.

9 - The Texans produced nine in the entire 2020 season.

4 - Texans QB Tyrod Taylor has faced the Jets six times in his career, winning four of those contests.

3 - DB Desmond King II went three calendar years without an interception. He had a pick as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers against the Seattle Seahawks in November 2018, and his next one was in the fourth quarter against the Titans last week.

12 - It took King II all of 12 defensive snaps to get his next interception - a key pick on third down in the fourth quarter as well that led to a Ka'imi Fairbairn game-clinching field goal.

18 - RB Rex Burkhead carried the ball 18 times against Tennessee. It was the most carries he's had a game since the first game of the 2018 season when he had 18 carries against...the Houston Texans.

50 - The Texans played the New England Patriots on October 9th, 2021, 50 days from Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets.

1 - The Texans played just one home game in that 50-day span.

27 - After returning home on Sunday night after the win over Tennessee, the Texans won't have to leave Houston for 27 days. It'll be three straight home games before traveling to Jacksonville to meet the Jaguars on December 19th, 2021.

10 - With Zach Wilson starting on Sunday, he'll be the tenth first-round pick QB the Texans have faced in 11 games. The only non-first-round QB the Texans faced was Miami QB Jacoby Brissett. Over the following six games, the Texans presumably will face - Carson Wentz, Russell Wilson, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Trey Lance and Ryan Tannehill - all former first-round selections except for Russell Wilson.

3 - The 2021 Texans have three former Jets on the roster who faced the Texans in 2018 - Jordan Jenkins, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Neville Hewitt.

2 - The 2021 Texans have just two starters who faced the Jets in New Jersey in 2018 - Zach Cunningham and Justin Reid.

That's going to do it for this week! See y'all on Sunday, everyone!!

Catch the matchup on Sunday at NRG Stadium or on CBS and SportsRadio 610. Kickoff is set for noon CT. Click here for tickets.
