The Texans had their third practice of organized team activities (OTAs) on Wednesday morning. The team will have another practice tomorrow, then break until next Monday, May 24.
The weather at this morning's outdoor practice was beautiful, or at least as beautiful as can be expected in Houston in May: 80 degrees, nice breeze, even a few minutes of cloud cover from the sun. It's humid as usual, but players are **enjoying the cooler weather** while it lasts.
Wide receiver Andre Johnson is still **not participating in OTAs**, and linebacker DeMeco Ryans and running back Ben Tate are still sidelined by hamstring injuries. It's five months until the season begins, so the Texans aren't in a hurry to rush either player back on the field.
We spoke with Tate after practice and will have more from him later this afternoon. I'll also be writing about wide receiver Kevin Walter, who's been catching everything in sight, and linebacker Xavier Adibi, who's been getting starters' reps in Ryans' absence this week.
