Ticketmaster Recognizes the First Houston Texans PSL Holder

Everyone knows about the first Texans win: 19-10 over the Cowboys on September, 8, 2002.

Everyone knows about the first Texans playoff game: J.J. Watt caught a fastball at point-blank range, then galloped 20 yards or so into the end zone in the win over the Bengals.

But not everyone knows about the very first PSL holder for the franchise: Rob Johnson.

Johnson purchased his PSL (personal seat license) back in 1999, and was the very first person to do so for the new franchise. He hasn't missed a single Texans game, dating back to the delicious franchise-opening stunner over Dallas on that smoky night in 2002.

Johnson still has the paper ticket from that game, as well a Liberty White Texans helmet autographed by Team Founder Bob McNair well before that win – an piece of memorabilia he says he holds closest to his heart.

But in all his years as a PSL holder, Johnson had never been a participant during any in-game promotions until Christmas Day of 2024.

At that game, he took part in the "Ticketmaster Finish the Lyric" promotion, where he sang a rendition of "All I Want for Christmas is You". Mariah Carey needn't worry about her job, but Johnson came through with the right lyrics and won a $250 Ticketmaster gift card, then was surprised with an autographed Will Anderson Jr. Texans Jersey, given to him on behalf of Ticketmaster.

It's now amongst the most special pieces of memorabilia he's acquired over the years supporting the Texans.

Because of Ticketmaster's dedication to Season Ticket Members and the Houston Texans, we are able to help make life long memories for our most loyal and passionate fans like Rob continue from the beginning to now! Thank you to Ticketmaster and Rob for their extreme support!
