The 2009 Texans will take the field for the first time today when Day 1 of organized team activities (OTAs) begin at 10:45 a.m. The team's veterans have spent the previous six weeks in Ray Wright's non-mandatory offseason workout program. The Texans' rookies, including first-round pick Brian Cushing, arrived in Houston yesterday. The newcomers took a group tour of Reliant Stadium, met with position coaches, received their massive playbooks and took their physicals and headshots. The fun begins today.
The only players expected not to participate in OTAs are franchise cornerback Dunta Robinson, who's sitting out over a contract dispute, and two rookies: defensive end Connor Barwin and running back Jeremiah Johnson. Barwin, the second-round pick from Cincinnati, and Johnson, an undrafted free agent from Oregon, both attend schools with late graduation dates. Per an NCAA rule, they will not be allowed to report to the Texans until after their schools' respective graduations, so the first that we'll see of them should be in the Texans' minicamp on June 15.
Here's a look at **five storylines** heading into OTAs.
