The Texans hoped to get Tom Savage extra work in Houston's regular season finale at Tennessee, but an injury would cut his day short.
Savage, hurt on the first play of the second quarter against the Titans, headed to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion after on a fourth-and-1 quarterback sneak. He completed 5-of-8 for 25 yards on the day and was replaced by Brock Osweiler.
At halftime, head coach Bill O'Brien said he expected Savage to play in the second half. Savage did not return, however, and was ruled out with a concussion. The third-year quarterback had initially cleared and returned for the final play of the first half to take a knee.
The Texans faced the Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
