Phillip Lindsay's 22-yard touchdown catch helped the Texans tie the game at 7-apiece early in Cleveland.
Tyrod Taylor found Lindsay on a creatively-designed screen pass, and the running back went up the right side and into the end zone with 5:18 left in the opening period.
Taylor completed all six of his passes on the drive, finding five different receivers. Rookie Nico Collins caught a 32-yarder on the first play of the possession, while Chris Conley had a 13-yarder, and Brandin Cooks hauled in catches for 12 yards and six yards.
The drive went 84 yards on eight plays and lasted 4:38.
Joey Slye's extra point tied the game.
It was Lindsay's second score of the 2021 campaign, as he ran for a touchdown last week versus the Jaguars. It was his first touchdown catch since September 9 of 2018, when he was a rookie with the Broncos.
The Texans will host the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC, NFL Network and SportsRadio 610. Click here for tickets.
