The Houston Texans will face the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 2. Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is set for 12 p.m. CT on CBS (KHOU, Ch. 11), SportsRadio610 (610 AM, 100.3 FM) and Mega 101 FM (101.1 FM).
Houston is coming off a 27-20 road loss to the New England Patriots in Week 1. The Texans were led on defense by S Tyrann Mathieu, who finished with five total tackles (three solo), one interception, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed. Mathieu became the first Texans player to record an interception and a fumble recovery in the same game since 2012 and the first Texans player to record five total tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery in a game since 2010.
Texans NT D.J. Reader recorded the first multi-sack game of his career, taking down Patriots QB Tom Brady twice in the fourth quarter, while CB Kareem Jackson (eight total tackles, two forced fumbles) and ILB Zach Cunningham (eight total tackles, one pass defensed) also played well on defense for Houston.
Offensively, the Texans were led by RB Lamar Miller and WR DeAndre Hopkins. Miller finished with 98 yards on 20 carries (4.9 avg.) and caught one pass for 11 yards (11.0 avg.). Hopkins finished with a team-high 78 receiving yards on eight receptions (9.8 avg.). WR Bruce Ellington and RB Alfred Blue recorded the two Houston touchdowns.
