Regardless, head coach Bill O'Brien emphasized that the Texans need to have a winner's mentaility.

"Every time they take the field, they need to play to win," O'Brien said in Nashville after the win over the Titans.

Veteran linebacker Brian Cushing, meanwhile, reiterated that playoff talk is meaningless if the Texans fail down the stretch.

"We've just got to take care of business," Cushing said. "That's all it comes down to and we know we're really in the driver's seat of our destiny. We've got to take care of what we can do and we've just got to win."

The Texans host the Jaguars next Sunday at NRG Stadium, with kickoff at noon CT.
