Texans quarterback Matt Schaub hopes to guide his squad to a victory this weekend against the Colts.
In Week 9 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player receives an Andre Johnson Fat Head wall graphic.
Remember to pick your new team each week and use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: In Week 9, Drew Brees is the most expensive player points-wise, costing you a whopping 80 points. But if you're strapped for points elsewhere, try Cincinnati backup quarterback J.T. Sullivan for just one point.
Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.
PRICE IS RIGHT RB Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC, 56 (vs. KC) In the last two weeks, Jones-Drew has piled up a combined 310 yards on just 41 carries, and he's scored five touchdowns. He and the Jaguars face the woeful Chiefs this Sunday, so expect another eye-popping day for the talented back.
VALUE PICK TE Joel Dreessen, HOU, 1 (@ IND)/RB Ryan Moats, HOU, 10 (@ IND) Somebody's not paying attention, because these two Texans can be had for dirt-cheap this week. Let's start with Dreessen, because he'll start at tight end this weekend in place of the injured Owen Daniels, and figures to get some red zone opportunities. As for Moats, he reeled off three touchdown runs and went off for 126 yards last week against the Bills. Do a Texans daily-double on this pair, and you're only out 11 points.
NOT WORTH IT K Stephen Gostkowski, NE, 30 (vs. MIA) It's not so much a knock on Gostkowski as it is knowing that Matt Stover can be had for just five points. Stover's filling in for the injured Adam Vinatieri with the Colts, and the Indianapolis kicker can be had for 25 points less. Plus, Stover's kicking indoors this weekend. Save your points and avoid Gostkowski.
SLEEPER SPECIAL QB Alex Smith, SF, 11 (vs. TEN) This is a common theme in Week 9: players who recently became starters, who's point appraisal hasn't been changed. Smith is running the 49ers offense now, and with tight end Vernon Davis, rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree, and a healthy Frank Gore at running back, he has a lot of help now. Plus, look for the Titans to struggle on the road trip to the West Coast.
TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK Matt Schaub, HOU, 66 (@ IND) Like most weeks, you can make this choice and never really regret it. Keep in mind that the NFL's touchdown passes leader has never played at Indianapolis with receiver Andre Johnson. He started there in 2006, but Johnson was injured. Schaub was out because of injuries in 2007 and 2008. These two have been making sweet, sweet music all season long, and that will continue this weekend against the Colts.
