Will Fuller V likely won't suit up for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The second-year wide receiver suffered a ribs injury in the Texans 33-7 loss to the L.A. Rams and did not practice on Wednesday.
"I'm not sure about whether he cracked it or not, but yeah, I would say he will miss the game," O'Brien said Wednesday. "Yes."
Through six games, Fuller scored a touchdown on seven of his first 11 receptions this year. The Texans will have to accommodate for the loss of the speedy deep threat, but it will be a combination of multiple players getting more targets.
"Other guys are going to have to step up," O'Brien said. "Bruce (Ellington) is running good routes. Bruce needs to get the ball more. Bruce Ellington, he's doing some really good things out there. Hop (DeAndre Hopkins) is Hop, everybody knows what he's doing this year. Hopefully Braxton (Miller) can contribute in some way, shape or form at receiver. So, I think there's some different guys that have to step up in the absence of Fuller."
Fuller currently ranks second in the NFL in receiving touchdowns (7), trailing only his teammate DeAndre Hopkins who has eight.
The Texans will honor Andre Johnson during Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The franchise's all-time leading wide receiver will become the first member of the Houston Texans Ring of Honor. Kickoff is set for noon CT on SportsRadio 610 and FOX.
