I brought my favorite book that is all about the ocean and seashells. I fell in love with all things oceanic after seeing Finding Nemo as a toddler. I started collecting seashells when I was three years old, and by the time I received this book for my 8th birthday I had hundreds of assorted shells.

Nyja Quash graduated from YES Prep Southwest High School and will be attending Davidson College and double majoring in Computer Science and Neuroscience.
The 2 personal items I brought were my Letterman jacket and my Davidson College flag. These were important to me because I've worked since 7th grade in order to get these 2 items. I brought my jacket because it is the literal manifestation of the 5am cross country practices before school, the 6pm basketball practices after school and all the track and cross country meets on the weekends. It also reveals the balancing act I had to keep up with my academics, athletics, and various other clubs and organizations throughout my time in high school. That jacket symbolizes all that I have been through while in college. At YES Prep Southwest, in order to graduate you must be accepted into at least one accredited 4-year undergraduate college or university, as well as keep up with all other parameters for academic success for graduation in Texas, the Davidson flag symbolizes where I am going and my future. I am so excited to graduate and explore what the world has to offer.
