Chris Blanco enters his ninth season with the Houston Texans and fourth as a pro scout. Blanco previously served as a player personnel scout for three seasons and worked as an interim pro scout from February to May 2014 after serving as a pro personnel assistant starting in June 2012.
In his current role, Blanco evaluates players from the NFL and other professional football leagues in addition to college prospects. He also does advance scouting of Texans opponents, assists with player workouts, attends college pro days and conducts positional cross-check evaluations for the NFL Draft.
Blanco was a two-year starter at cornerback at Dartmouth College from 2003-07, where he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology. In addition to playing football for the Big Green, Blanco also was a member of the Dartmouth boxing team.
Blanco earned a doctorate degree from The University of Iowa College of Law, where he was the co-founder and co-president of the Sports Law Society and served as a recruiting assistant for the Hawkeyes football team.
A native of La Mirada, Calif., Blanco currently resides in Houston.
