If the experts are correct, the Texans are taking an offensive lineman at 25th overall in this year's Draft.
The 2025 NFL Draft starts Thursday, April 24 in Green Bay. Many mock drafts are up and running, and HoustonTexans.com singled out 24 of the more prominent ones to take temperature of where they think the Texans might go in the Draft.
Tyler Booker was the most-mocked player to Houston. The Alabama offensive lineman, who checks in at 6-5, 352 pounds, started 11 games this fall at left guard, and one game at left tackle. Six of the 24 (25%) mock drafts tabbed Booker to Houston.
Behind him, four players were mocked to Houston two times apiece. Ohio State's Emeka Egubka (WR) and Josh Simmons (OL) each were picks at 25 by two different mockers, and so were defensive tackles Walter Nolen (Ole Miss) and Kenneth Grant (Michigan).
10 different players were mocked to Houston by one expert apiece.
In all, half of the 24 mock drafts predicted the Texans would select an offensive lineman in the first round. Six of the 24 (25%) have the Texans drafting a defensive lineman, and five (20.8%) think the Texans will go with a wide receiver in the first round.
18 of the 24 (75%) are offensive choices, and the other quarter are defensive players.
The Texans went 10-7 and captured their second straight AFC South title in 2024. They won a Wild Card Playoff against the Chargers at NRG Stadim, and fell in the Divisional Round at Kansas City.
In all, they have these six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
