With just under one month left until the long-awaited 2014 NFL Draft, not even players can escape the questions surrounding the Texans' No. 1 pick. On Monday, Brian Cushing joined Sirius XM Radio’s “The SXM Blitz” and discussed the possibility of playing on the same defense as South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney.
"A guy like Jadeveon Clowney is obviously going to be an instant impact player whether it's us picking him or somebody else," Cushing said. "I think he's going to be a great football player in the NFL. He's going to do a great job. Like I said, whether it's with us or someone else, he could definitely improve our defense or somebody else's. We'll see what happens."
While many players prefer to stay away from the constant draft coverage, Cushing admits he follows it and wants to get a jump start on knowing his future teammates.
"I watch every draft," Cushing said. "It's what I do; I'm a football player so I watch every guy coming in and who's going to help our football team and how we're going to improve overall."
The NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 8 with the first-round selections and end on Saturday, May 10.
