Christian Harris, the roof and more | Fans Wanna Know

Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking
HERE.

Aaron Allen: Dear Drew, When do you think Christian Harris will return from injury?
DD: The soonest the third-year linebacker could return to game action would be Week 5, when Houston hosts the Buffalo Bills on October 6 at noon. Last season he finished with 101 total tackles, and led the squad with 65 solo stops. His return will be a welcome one. Houston's leaned on Henry To'oTo'o through the first two contests with Harris out, and the second-year backer has looked good. Getting Harris back in the mix will only strengthen what's been a solid defense in the early going of 2024.

***Aaron, your question is this week's Texas Lottery Scratchoffs winning question. Someone from the organization will soon be in contact with you about that.***

Joe Kooly: Dear Drew why is the roof NRG never open for a football game?
DD: It was open on Sunday Night Football and looked awesome. However, when the temperature is above 80 degrees, it'll stay closed. Also, if the temps are below 60 degrees, it'll stay closed.

Sunday was the first time since the 2021 season it was open. During 2020, the Texans popped the top multiple times. Before 2020, though, it hadn't been opened since 2014.

James Noland: Dear Drew, Why don't we play our starters in the final preseason game so they are not so " rusty" as everyone is calling it? There used to be value placed in getting ready for the regular season better by game experience.
DD: Because you run the risk of players getting injured.

The Texans are 2-0, and I wouldn't say they look too rusty.

Do you really want to run the risk of key players on the squad getting injured in a game that doesn't count in the standings?

Drew Saucedo: Dear Drew, Can you ask C.J. to slide feet first instead of head first?? I know Matt Shaub had some Houston Astros teach him how to slide efficiently. Seeing what happened to Tua I just want CJ to take all the proper precautions!! Your Buddy Drew.
DD: Drew, I think C.J.'s got all that under control. He's been pretty judicious with when he does go head-first. He's also played quite a bit of baseball growing up, so I think he's set when it comes to the foot-first sliding department.

Phillip W.: Dear Drew, Do you know what uniform the Texans will be wearing for the Dallas Cowboys game?
DD: The franchise will release the uniform combo the week of that game. But if history holds, they'll most likely be in the Deep Steel Blue jerseys and Liberty White pants. Dallas typically wears white at home, and they're scheduled to wear white for that game, so we'll see the Texans in the blue tops.

That's what they've worn at the Cowboys throughout their history
