David Quessenberry's fight with lymphoma doesn't just have the support of his teammates and Texans fans. It picked up another NFL head coach on Tuesday.
The Colts' Chuck Pagano sported an "Indianapolis for DQ" t-shirt at today's practice, as the head coach gave a thumbs up for the Texans' offensive lineman. Quessenberry is battling lymphoma, and has been placed on the active/non-football illness list. The entire Houston offensive line has dedicated the 2014 season to Quessenberry.
Pagano fought leukemia during the 2012 season, as he was diagnosed with the disease in September. He underwent treatment and returned to the sidelines to coach in late December. He's been cancer-free ever since.
On Thursday in Houston, all Texans employees will wear their "Texans for DQ" t-shirts, and fans in attendance at training camp are encouraged to wear the shirts as well. Shirts can be purchased at shop.houstontexans.com, and proceeds will go to the Lymphoma Research Foundation in Quessenberry's name.
