HOUSTON -
Hundreds of students from 13 HISD schools in the Reagan High School feeder pattern will take part in a Festival of the Arts on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Reagan campus (413 East 13th, 77008).

The Festival of the Arts is a family-oriented event designed to strengthen community and school relationships while promoting the importance of arts in public education. The festival will showcase more than 30 different performing ensembles from all 13 HISD schools in the Reagan feeder pattern. It also will feature more than 100 different pieces of art created by students.

Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase to benefit Reagan High School, Hamilton Middle School, Hogg Middle School and Crockett Elementary. The festival also will include a moonwalk, face painting, piñatas, and other family activities.

The Robert and Janice McNair Foundation has generously underwritten the festival. The McNair Foundation has provided funding for numerous fine arts and education-outreach programs in the Reagan feeder pattern schools, including scholarships for fine-arts activities over the summer, classroom supplies, and equipment.
