Instead of doing a conference call with the Houston media like every other draft pick, new Texans defensive tackle Earl Mitchell will be coming to Reliant Stadium for a press conference. That's because he's a Houston native and was watching the draft in town with family and friends.
The same thing happened with Rice tight end James Casey last year after the Texans made him their fifth-round draft pick. That's one of the perks of getting drafted by your hometown team --- usually, only the first-round picks (and maybe the second-rounder) are flown into town for press conferences.
Mitchell is set to arrive at 9 p.m. His press conference will stream live on HoustonTexans.com.
