Jadeveon Clowney is good to go.
After missing practices last week, as well as the preseason opener against the 49ers, the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft was back at it on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"My knee feels fine," Clowney said. "I feel okay."
The outside linebacker dealt with knee soreness last week, but participated inside at the Houston Methodist Training Center for the first two practices of this week. He said the mental reps he went through while he wasn't with the team were valuable.
"I watched the practice in San Francisco when they were gone," Clowney said. "I watch all the practices
and put myself in the situations. I try to put myself in certain calls and see where I line up. Always mental reps. They help just as much as being out there."
Clowney and the Texans are set to practice with the Saints on Thursday, and the two teams will square off at NRG Stadium on Saturday night.
"I'm looking forward to it a lot," Clowney said. "I'm just ready to go, ready for the Saints to come in and go against them and get better. That's what it's all about, taking it one day at a time. That's what camp is for, to get better. We're ramping it up and getting closer to the season. I'm just looking forward to playing."
Kickoff is Saturday evening at 7 p.m. CT.
