Reliant Energy spokesman Chester Pitts held a press conference at his home Wedensday to announce his support of the Compact with Texas. Pitts then displayed simple energy efficiency upgrades he has made around his home.
The event was part of Reliant Energy's Compact with Texas campaign in which Texans across the state pledge to be more energy efficient. The effort promotes citizens to switch from incandescent light bulbs to a much more energy efficient compact fluorescent light (CFLs). Pitts signed the Compact with Texas pledge on behalf of the Houston Texans players and Texans vice president of sales and marketing John Vidalin signed on behalf of the Houston Texans staff.
Anyone signing Reliant Energy's statewide Compact with Texas pledge is also supporting the national Change a Light Campaign, organized in October, 2006 by the U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency. Reliant Energy is a national Energy Star partner in promoting the use of energy efficient products and energy saving measures. Click here for more information.
