Texans and Hispanic Women in Leadership Host Mujeres De Las Americas Event
HOUSTON – The Houston Texans and Hispanic Women in Leadership were proud to host the Mujeres de las Americas event on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the Houston Texans Team Auditorium in Reliant Stadium.
This great event helped encourage and promote the development and advancement
of all Hispanic women. All proceeds from this event were donated to a special
scholarship fund established by Hispanic Women in Leadership. Rosanna Moreno,
Vice President of International Private Banking, Wells Fargo Bank served as the
keynote speaker and offered a presentation on business opportunities for women.Â
The event also featured a special educational session presented by Dr.Orfelina
Guerrera Garza, President of Houston Community College, Southeast Campus. Univision
KXLN-TV Channel 45. Anchor Beatriz de Alvarado served as the mistress of ceremonies.
"This was a terrific collaboration between Hispanic Women in Leadership and the
Houston Texans. We look forward to doing this event once again next year," Celia
Valles, President of Hispanic Women in Leadership said.
The Texans were also proud to play a part in such a beneficial and worthy event.
"I think this was a great opportunity to encourage the advancement of all Hispanic women, along with raising more than $800,00 for a great scholarship fund. I would like to thank Hispanic Women in Leadership along with Univision KXLN Channel 45 in working together to make this great event possible," Robert Saladino, Hispanic Outreach Coordinator Houston Texans concluded.
