Texans Cheerleaders joined other members of the organization as volunteers at the Houston Food Bank following Hurricane Ike.
Dear Houston Texans fans:
We are very proud to represent Houston in the National Football League, and our presence brings many important benefits to our community. For example, a recent study concluded that an NFL team will deliver an economic impact of approximately $250mm per year and generate thousands of jobs. Also, our games reach massive audiences on radio and television each week of the season, and this exposure provides a tremendous amount of publicity for our city. While we are known for the excitement our games bring to so many each Sunday, our impact can be felt in Houston every day of the year.
Our organization has quickly become a leader within professional sports. Our game experience at Reliant Stadium has been recognized by ESPN, J.D. Power & Associates and others as one of the finest in the industry. This year we responded to the challenging economic environment by introducing a broad range of value priced food, beverage and merchandise options in order to make our game experience more affordable for our fans. We aim to deliver great entertainment, memorable experiences and good value, and I believe this commitment to quality has been a key component of our record-setting seven season sell-out streak.
One of our primary objectives is to become recognized as the most community-connected sports franchise in the world. Over the past decade, we have contributed millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to support a wide variety of causes in our community. This past year, we helped our area to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ike by raising over $2mm through our Texans Helping Texans campaign. We know that we have a responsibility to demonstrate leadership within our community, and we are working diligently to make an even bigger impact in the future.
You may access a copy of our Texans Care 2008-2009 Community Impact Report by clicking **here**. This report details many of the initiatives we support in the Greater Houston area. I encourage you to take a few minutes to review some of the ways our players, coaches and staff are making a difference for Houston. If you have any questions regarding this report, or our community outreach initiatives in general, please contact our Community Relations Manager, Risa Hall, at (832) 667-2144.
Thank you for your support of the Houston Texans. We look forward to serving you this year and for many great seasons to come.
Go Texans!
