HOUSTON– This week's Houston Texans 5A Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Tom Nolen of Lamar High School. Coach Nolen's Redskins (8-0) remained undefeated with a 23-0 shutout of Bellaire. Lamar's Marquael Beason accounted for most of the offense, scoring on a 50-yard punt return and a 27-yard reception.
This week's Houston Texans 4A-under Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Bryan Erwin of La Marque High School. Coach Erwin's Cougars (7-0) kept their undefeated season going with a 35-17 victory over Friendswood. La Marque quarterback L.J. Castille had a huge day offensively, completing six of nine passes for 127 yards and three scores through the air while rushing for 130 yards on eight carries, including a touchdown.
Lamar High School and La Marque High School will each receive a $500 grant in
their coach's name for winning the Texans Coach of the Week Award. Also, each
coach will be recognized by Texans Head Coach Dom Capers in his press conference,
on HoustonTexans.com and NFLHS.com, and on the video board at Reliant Stadium.Â
Coach Nolen and Coach Erwin will also be invited to the Texans vs. Rams game on
November 27 and the Texans High School Coach of the Week Banquet on January 19
