Texans H.S. Coach of the Week

HOUSTON– This week's Houston Texans 5A Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Bill Lane of Katy Taylor High School. Coach Lane's Mustangs (2-1) broke up a fourth quarter tie with a 78-yard scoring drive to upset Clear Lake 21-14. Taylor quarterback Aaron Wright rushed for a 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winning score.

This week's Houston Texans 4A-under Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Tim Teykl of Terry High School. Coach Teykl's Rangers (3-0) had another huge game offensively, downing Dayton 47-21. Terry wide receiver Darnell Jackson scored four touchdowns, including one rushing, to go with seven catches for 131 yards.

Katy Taylor High School and Terry High School will each receive a $500 grant in their coach's name for winning the Texans Coach of the Week Award. Also, each coach will be recognized by Texans Head Coach Dom Capers in his press conference, on HoustonTexans.com and NFLHS.com, and on the video board at Reliant Stadium. Coach Lane and Coach Teykl will also be invited to the Texans vs. Rams game on November 27 and the Texans High School Coach of the Week Banquet in January.
