The Houston Texans, The Methodist Hospital System and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will host their **5th annual blood drive** throughout the Houston area beginning Saturday, challenging Houstonians to Commit for Life and help save lives, Sept. 29 through Oct. 9. Last year, more than 2,000 blood donations were collected through the Texans Blood Drive.
The Texans Blood Drive will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Methodist Training Center, 8335 Lantern Point Drive, where Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center representatives will invite fans to donate and learn about the importance of Commit for Life from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Texans cheerleaders will also be at the blood drive with giveaways and to join the activities.
On Tuesday, Oct. 2, two Texans players will make appearances at the blood drive at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, 18220 Tomball Parkway, Houston, from 10 a.m. - noon. The blood drive will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

All those who donate or attempt to donate will receive a commemorative Houston Texans Blood Drive T-shirt and will have their names entered in a variety of Houston Texans giveaways, including autographed Texans merchandise.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health to donate. At Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center locations, individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have their parents' consent also may donate.
The donation process is simple, taking only about an hour. One donation can help save up to three lives. Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and Methodist are asking their donors to Commit for Life. It takes three simple steps:

2) Allow us to contact you
3) Spread the word, encouraging others to Commit for Life.
