Got a question about the Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty's your guy.
He's been with the Texans since 2009 and is chock full of meaningful, as well as generally useless, information. Fire away by clicking HERE.
Vicente Ruiz, Jr.: Dear Drew, When do we expect Joe Mixon or Dameon Pierce back, and how bad is Nico Collins' hamstring injury?
DD: Vicente, the Collins injury is bad enough that the Texans placed him on Injured Reserve Wednesday morning. That means he'll miss at least the next four games. Collins came out after the long touchdown catch Sunday, and it's a major bummer because of how well he's been playing.
As for the running backs, we'll see on those two. Head Coach DeMeco Ryans was asked about Mixon on Monday, and said the Texans "didn't know" that day whether or not the veteran could play this weekend.
"He has definitely been improving week to week," Ryans said. "He's been doing a great job attacking his rehab, so we will see where he is as the week goes on."
***Vicente, your question just won you some Texas Lottery Scratchoff tickets. Congrats! Someone from the organization will soon be in contact with you.***
Marcos Navarrete: Dear Drew, After Week 5, do we have what it takes to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16?
DD: Sure. But let's just beat the Patriots in Week 6. Houston's never won a game at New England, and now's as good a time as any. But yes: if this Texans team is firing on all cylinders, it can beat anybody.
Chris Kubiak: Dear Drew, Still a Texan, severely misplaced in Iowa currently. First time writer, long time reader: Do you see a trade looming with us for a certain superstar receiver on another team who's reportedly wanting out of a losing situation?
DD: Hi Chris, appreciate you checking in and staying strong up in Iowa. I enjoyed my one visit there back in 2006.
As for trades, no. I don't see the Texans making any moves like the one to which you allude. With Collins out, they still have Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, and can work in Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie, III a bit more.
Gage Hammond: Dear Drew, How can we get these games to be shown across the United States so non-local fans are able to watch without spending money on streaming services?
DD: Keep winning. It's really that simple. The teams that win the most typically get shown on national television the most. I wish I had a more creative answer for you, but that's about it.
Zack Martinez: Hey Drew! Big win at home, but still a lot of mistakes. What is your biggest take away from the game?
DD: The Texans defense beat up a perennial MVP candidate in quarterback Josh Allen. They hit him nine times, harassed him into completing just 9-of-30 passes for 131 yards and a passer rating of 56.1.
Aaaaand…Ka'imi Fairbairn continues to drill clutch kicks from far, far away. He's been remarkable this year.
